Circumnavigating Oz
Circumnavigating Oz – or rather, the continent of Australia, you say? No, it is neither a dirty act nor suggestion. Rather, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I had the chance to experience.
In total, the tally accumulated to 32 days. I cannot begin to imagine the cost of such an adventure (say, by automobile) without the accommodations of a cruise ship.
Given what the ‘Land Down Under‘ conjures to those who are not Aussie, Tasmanian or Aborigine (basically, a Westerner like myself) the images are stereotypical and romanticized – be it Koalas to Didgeridoos. The continent of Australia is a vast piece of glorious geography offering so many treasures. And yes, I had a taste.
Beyond my mere job as Broadcast Technician for Royal Caribbean (my second contract with them), I am fortunate enough to be allotted free time quite regularly, similar to paying guests on-board, exploring every port of the Oz itinerary.
Over the ensuing weeks I will blog and post photos pertaining to the individual destinations (nine in total) I traveled to. Until then, here are a couple of snapshots to throw on the proverbial barbie.
